 Yakovlev Yak 3 "U"
The Yak 3 "U" was the last fighter with helix developed by Yakovlev; it was conceived that on the basis of the fighter light known well Yak3 on which one had been "transplanted" an engine Ach-82FN equipping Lavotchkin LA5, of 14 cylinders in double star, and developing 1550/1800 horses in the takeoff for a weight of 2790kgs !.

The structure of the device was completely metal, and its performances had to envy nothing to the western hunters: speed of 705km/hour in 6100m, gone up in 5000m 3,9mn.

Built in 1945, he arrived too late and stayed at the stage of prototype.

It is on the basis of this prototype that was developed and produced the two-seater Yak11.

YAK 3U or YAK-3M-82

This board was realized on the basis of a board of modified Yak3

The fuselage was widened to receive the engine in star. Therefore, the scale is crossed of 9,2m in 9,4m.

The window is that of on-line power-driven Yak3, but the cockpit was put off. The armament is established by two artillery of 20mm firing through the disc of the helix. This model will remain the fastest of all the fighters with helix builds in Soviet Union during the second world war.

Yak11, stemming from this prototype, will be produced in Czechoslovakia under the naming C-11 after 1952. It will be a two-seater version - so called T6 Russe - of training, animated by an engine ASh21 of 700cv.

The fuselage of Yak11 will be slightly widened to receive the second pilot, the engine advanced to restore the centring, and empennages will undergo minor modifications, of which the large-scale horizontal plan enlarged.
